International Master In Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility

Objectives

Do you want to contribute to human development seeking to relieve poverty, satisfying the basic needs of all peoples and promoting sustainable economic growth? Then you might want to join the IMSD programme.

EOI offers an innovative and eminently practical programme that focuses on understanding the real situation and future trends in sustainable development and corporate responsibility in international companies and institutions. The purpose of the IMSD programme is to prepare a new generation of responsible business and community leaders that will take organisations and policy makers to meeting the global challenges of the 21st century.
 

You will get the experience of top professionals, experts in development, environmental management, CSR and Social Entrepreneurship (link al video Clase Abierta IMSD: Social Entrepreneurship, Daniel Truran) among others.

The IMSD is aimed at university graduates or young professionals, who are interested in developing their professional career within the area of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Management. Applicants are welcome from any subject discipline. We need form them positive attitude and motivation to think of new ideas and new projects.

A high level of English is required. Thinking green as well!

Methodology

The programme is delivered to small groups and each participant’s progress is individually monitored. The student’s learning is reinforced with On Line support which improves communication between the participants, the lecturer and the EOI.

The programme combines theoretical sessions with practical training and is complemented with: Work Groups, Oral presentations, Practical case studies, Conferences and forums, Visits to technical facilities and Final Project.

Lectures

The EOI Faculty is composed of professionals who work in important national and international organisations. They teach essential theoretical issues but also share their professional experience. Thus, debates in class are very frequent and they represent an unquestionable added value to this Master given the high profile of students: engineers, environmental managers, business administrators, psychologists… from all over the world.

Assignments

During the programme students will be asked to submit business cases, papers and other practical assignments so they will be able to face real problems once working in the professional world.

Final Project

During the third trimester of the Master students will combine lectures with a final project, carried out in groups. The project will represent a real situation in a company or an international organisation and will be monitored by a tutor. Passing the final project is a necessary condition to be awarded the Masters official certificate.

Mentoring Programme

EOI-Business School Mentoring Programme aims to accompany students throughout the academic year in order to guide them personally and professionally. By means of personal interviews and specific Professional Guidance seminars, strong and weak points are detected from the student´ s personality in order to enhance the first ones and improve the second, during the training at EOI. This represents a big help for our students when joining the labour market.

Internships

As an added value, once finished the Master EOI students have the possibility to join a 6 to 12 month internship in private companies and other institutions. This allows students to put into practice what they have learned during the classes and represents an essential step to move into real business.

Assessment and Evaluation

The master's assessment system has a two-pronged approach.

Continuous evaluation

Students are assessed over the course of each term or teaching period, in a process which, as appropriate, takes into account class participation, written work, presentations in class, practical activities and guided academic activities, as well as objective testing or examinations.

Each one of these concepts is allocated a percentage mark which, when added up or weighted, contributes the final grade awarded for the subject assessed. The percentages for each of the concepts referred to above will be itemised, along with any others that individual teachers or departments may decide to include.

Furthermore, during the assessment period students are monitored individually to assess their level of participation and commitment through personal interviews conducted with the programme director.

Final project

As a complement to the assessment of the courses, students shall submit and subsequently present their final project, completed in the final period of the Master's. Students who have successfully completed all the subjects as well as the final dissertation, shall will be awarded the Diploma of the “International Master in Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility” by EOI Business School.

Manage to

Applicants are welcome from any subject discipline, with or without professional experience. Commitment towards sustainable development, positive critical attitude and motivation to take up a leadership position in any type of organization are required. A high level of English is needed.
